Biography
Gary was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in 1971. As a child he grew up in Zambia where the sights on the African savannah presented him with a love for the outdoors and the opportunity to try his hand at photography.
It was this passion for the outdoors that led to Gary spending the summer months exploring the Norfolk Broads and East Anglia Coastline when he returned to the UK in 1984. Having rekindled his love for photography two years ago this knowledge of the local area and his fondness of the outdoors has given Gary the opportunity to capture the stunning rural landscape scenes of the East Anglia Broads & Coastline.
The majority of his landscapes are taken at either dawn or dusk. The light and tones are often mesmerising with the countryside taking on that magical appearance that can not be replicated at any other time of the day.
Gary sees his landscape photography as a way in which he can assist in preserving every day images of Norfolk and Suffolk, showing the picturesque natural beauty of the area for future generations.
In late 2008 Digital SLR Photography Magazine asked Gary if his work could be featured in their December 2008 edition. His work has since appeared in February 7th 2009 Edition of Amateur Photography Magazine, Photography Monthly Magazine (March 2009 Edition), The Essential Guide to Landscape Photography Magazine 2009, Amateur Photography Magazine (2nd March 2010 edition) and Enterprising Energy Magazine (Summer 2010 edition).
2010 was an exciting year for East Coast Images with Gary having branched out into both Commercial Photography (specializing in the Petrochemical Industry, an industry in which he has over twenty years experience) and Lifestyle Photography, whilst his landscape photography has gone from strength to strength.
A number of Gary's images have appeared in 2011 calendars. His Broadland landscape images have also been chosen by Woodfordes Brewery as part of their new website and Gary received a "Commended" in Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition 2010.
More recently Gary has won the Norfolk Catagory in the Norwich Airport / Eastern Daily Press Photographic Competition and has two images on display in the airport security area.
This website has also been created to showcase a selection of Gary’s work.
